Requires a combination of multiple procedures such as Subscision, Punch Excision, Microneedling, Dermabrasion and Chemical Peels, and Lasers to give the best possible results for any given patient.
What is BOTOX?
BOTOX is the trade name of Botulinum toxin. This toxin acts by causing certain groups of facial muscles to not contract thereby helping in removing wrinkles.
BOTOX acts by causing weakness of the targeted muscle. When injected into muscles that cause wrinkles on the face, BOTOX causes a visible and significant improvement by reducing wrinkles, taking years off your face, and making you look and feel relaxed!
Lines or wrinkles on our face, can be divided into static and dynamic lines. The static lines are those that are present in the face at rest – i.e., lines which are seen even when you are not making any facial expression. Dynamic lines, are those which appear only on making an expression It is these dynamic lines that can be effectively treated with BOTOX. In general, wrinkles on the face need a combination approach. While BOTOX takes care of the dynamic lines, static lines are so much improved with a filler.
Fillers are very much sought after by everyone as it is a quick, easy and painless method to instantly improve a person’s facial appearance,. Ongoing and rigorous refinement of the procedure has made it possible to use this versatile tool with excellent results. Fillers can also be used for depressions caused by acne scars.
Electrocautery is a method by which moles, warts and skin tags can be removed almost painlessly and immediately. Using either topical (by applying a cream) or local (using a small injection) anesthesia, the procedure is rendered quick and painless to the patient. Healing occurs over a period of 3 to 10 days depending on the size and the depth of the lesion.
After a chemical peel, skin is temporarily more sensitive to the sun, so wear sunscreen every day. It should say “broad-spectrum” on the label, meaning it protects against the sun’s UVA and UVB rays. Also, it should be a physical sunscreen and be above SPF 30. Limit your time in the sun, especially between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and wear a wide-brimmed hat.
During a chemical peel, most people feel a burning sensation that lasts about five to ten minutes, followed by a stinging sensation. Putting cool compresses on the skin may ease that stinging. You may need pain medication during or after a deeper peel.
PRP ( Platelet Rich Plasma )
At Prashanth Hospitals, we have been performing PRP therapy as a proactive therapeutic option for male and female patients experiencing hair loss. PRP is an exciting non-surgical therapeutic option for patients who require stimulation of hair growth for hair loss conditions.
Blood is drawn as in a routine blood test and spun in a centrifuge , separated and removed from the rest of the blood.
The highly concentrated platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then injected into the scalp and the patient may go home without any assistance. No sedation or any medication is given during the procedure to inhibit the ability to drive or use machinery.
PRP contains special cells called Platelets, which are present in the blood, that can cause growth of hair follicles by stimulating the stem cells and other cells in the microenvironment of the hair The primary purpose of using PRP in hair restoration is to stimulate inactive or newly implanted hair follicles into an active growth phase.
These cells promote healing, accelerates the rate and degree of tissue healing and regeneration, responds to injury, and formation of new cellular growth. It is used in hair transplant too to stimulate the inactive follicle.
PRP Rejuvenation for skin
PRP involves injection of the patient’s own platelets for the cosmetic treatment of wrinkles or scars in the face, hands and neck.
The goal of the PRP skin rejuvenation is to improve the skin tone and texture, tighten the skin, soften lines and pores It causes collagen to fill up in the scars. It is ideal for patients who don’t wish to have synthetic fillers.
PRP therapy is very promising in facial restoration.
As we age, our face undergoes a lot of changes in contour, texture, colour and elasticity. From looking our best in our early to mid twenties, the process of ageing slowly makes it mark on our appearance in accordance with our genetics. Also, external factors like sun exposure, improper nutrition and obesity and play an important role in hastening this ageing process.
Traditionally, interventions for an aged face would simply mean invasive surgery – a face lift, but now advances in cosmetic dermatology have made it possible to achieve excellent results without resorting to invasive surgery.
The approach to a Non Surgical Face Lift treatment is the facial tightening by one of the most advanced radiofrequency skin tightening equipments available. In the first year, 1- 3 treatments are required depending on the level of facial ageing, and results can easily be maintained with maintenance sessions every 12 – 18 months. This treatment closely follows the science of preventing/ ageing in a dynamic way as opposed to an one time, invasive surgery.
Along with acid fillers, BOTOX and fat dissolving injections, the tightening produces good results without the pain of invasive surgery. Since more than one intervention is often required depending on the stage of ageing, the treatments are often planned in sequence.
